Picture this: It’s mid-September in Florida. The high is 98 and the humidity is at 100%. The only logical thing to do is of course don a wedding dress, slap some makeup on your face, and head to the busiest theme park in the world for a Halloween Party!? And that my friends, is precisely what my partner and I did.
On September, 13th, 2024, my partner Daniel and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary by running around Magic Kingdom, getting candy, and enjoying the sights, sounds, and spooks of Disney’s very own Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. For any boys and ghouls who have not heard of this party let me enlighten you.
From August 09th – October 31st, 2024 on select nights, Walt Disney World Resorts very own Magic Kingdom Themepark hosts a spooktacular event. For a separate ticket cost ranging from $119 – $199 per person, you and your loved ones can dress up and join the fun! It’s the only time guests over the age of 13 are allowed to dress in costume in the parks. With specialty food, parades, stage shows, and fireworks only available at this party it makes for a truly unforgettable time!

Some of the highlights of the event include attraction overlays like the Mad Tea Party with new lights and music, Space Mountain in the pitch black, and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor with Halloween-themed jokes! You can find trick-or-treat trails located around the parks to get your fill on Mars candy, along with meeting some very limited edition characters such as Powerline Max from A Goofy Movie, Stitch dressed as Elvis, and even rare characters such as Goob from Meet The Robinsons!
The limited edition food has nearly become a reason to come to the party all on it’s own! This year we tried the Hand-dipped Corn Dog with spicy violet mustard and spicy cheese flavored snacks along with the Char Siu Chicken Wings from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, Spiced Chocolate Mousse Bar and Guava Lemonade Slushy with cheesecake foam from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café, and lastly the Chocolate-Carmel Tart from Golden Oak Outpost.

But of course, there is nothing Disney does quite as well as live entertainment and fireworks shows. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade is a fan favorite featuring the grave diggers from the Haunted Mansion who are sure to spark your fancy. You’ll also catch Ralph, Vanellope, and all her friends from Sugar Rush. In a truly magical debut you will see Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson Sisters. Speaking of those spooky sisters the Sandersons are back and there is…heck to pay. They take over the main stage of Cinderellas Castle with a spellbinding performance during the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular where they perform “I Put a Spell On You.” Careful! You may find yourself dancing all the way home!
There is no better way to end the night at Disney than with a mind-blowing fireworks show. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is no different. Disney has really upped their game in recent years with the addition of projections on the castle and this time they took it one bone-chilling step further. Featuring a 10-foot-tall Jack Skellington to host your ghoulishly good time you travel with Mickey and Friends along their trick-or-treat adventure.

This year’s fun may be sold out, but the frightful fun will almost certainly be back in 2025. Typically, Disney starts selling tickets around their Halfway-to-Halloween celebration. So keep an eye out or subscribe to our newsletter if you’d like to know immediately! Happy Spooky Season to you and yours. Keep it Creepy.
