Why Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Might Be Your Perfect Stay
If you’re looking for a unique and stylish place to stay at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort deserves a spot on your shortlist. As of today, this information is accurate and up to date (April 2025), but remember that offerings, prices, and experiences can change over time — so always double-check before your trip!
Coronado Springs is a Moderate Resort with a twist: it combines the laid-back spirit of the American Southwest and Mexico with touches of luxury you usually find in higher-end resorts. It’s also one of the few Disney resorts that doubles as a convention hotel, meaning you’ll find upgraded amenities like a full fitness center, spa services, and more dining options than other Moderate resorts.
One of the highlights is Gran Destino Tower, a beautiful addition inspired by the collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí. The tower offers a deluxe feel at a moderate price, with stunning modern rooms, indoor corridors (a rarity for Moderates), and incredible views of the property. If you want that “Disney Deluxe” vibe without the Deluxe price tag, Gran Destino is a hidden gem.
Foodies will love Coronado Springs. From Three Bridges Bar and Grill (an open-air restaurant on the water) to Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood (a rooftop restaurant with a fantastic view of nighttime fireworks), the dining here seriously impresses. There’s also a beautiful new lobby café, Barcelona Lounge, perfect for coffee or cocktails.
As for recreation, you’ll find a massive pool called The Dig Site, complete with a Mayan pyramid structure and a super-fun waterslide. There are also smaller quiet pools scattered around the resort, jogging trails, and seasonal activities for kids and families.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Coronado Springs is very large. Be ready to walk if you’re not staying in the Tower.
- It’s not heavily “themed” with characters like some other resorts; it leans more stylish and adult-friendly.
- Bus transportation is shared among several stops, so allow a little extra time getting to the parks.
In my opinion, Coronado Springs offers one of the best balances of price, comfort, and experience at Walt Disney World. It’s a great choice for couples, solo travelers, business guests, and even families looking for a less “chaotic” Disney stay.
